Ditipriya joined Seiradake Lab in 2019 as a Post-Doctoral researcher. Her goal is to study different protein complexes involved in neuronal development and disease. She is a structural biologist by training. Before joining in Oxford, she did her PhD and PostDoc in Ecole Polytechnique (Institut Paris) in the lab of Dr Marc Graille. Her project focused on the role of epitranscriptomic modification dependent mRNA degradation on cell cycle regulation. She did her Masters from Indian Institute of Technoogy, Kharagpur, where she worked on structural and functional characterization of proteins involved in mycobacterial fatty acid synthesis. In her Masters and PhD, she extensively used X-ray crystallography to study different macromolecular complexes.
In 2020, after just a short stint in the lab, Diti moved to India to take up a prestigious and permanent position as assistant professor at JIS University in Kolkata.
