Maria Kokolaki (Marilee) was a DPhil student in the Structural Biology programme at the University of Oxford funded by the Wellcome Trust. She joined the Seiradake Lab in April 2019 for a rotation and full DPhil. Marilee produced outstanding work that was included in a Cell paper in 2022 (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36240740/). Additional work is to be published. Marilee is now working as an expert protein scientist at T-Cypher Bio. Prior to joining our lab, Marilee completed her undergraduate studies in Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the University of Thessaly in Greece. For her final year research project, she explored enzyme function via kinetic studies. Before starting her DPhil in Oxford, Marilee did a traineeship working on the centriole organelles at the Biochemistry Department of the University of Oxford funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
